Miguel Pol was born in a family of musicians in Palma de Mallorca. He is the son of Andreu Pol, a violinist of the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands, pianist and co-founder of the famous 60’s and 70’s band “Millionaires”.
His grandfather, whose name was exactly the same (Miguel Pol), played as a trumpeter with the Orchestra Musilandia in the famous nightclub “Titos”, where important musicians like Ray Charles and Charles Aznavour acted.
From an early age, Miguel demonstrated his musical talent playing the piano. At the age of 5 he started attending piano lessons.
He continued his music theory and piano studies with his father’s advice, who worked as a professor at that time. He attended the exams of the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de les Illes Balears until he finished them.
Despite his classical training, his innate ability to improvise and harmonize was a determining factor in his decision to move to the popular genre. This way, Miguel could express his creativity and emotions in each song, making unique versions.
His professional activity began in 1988. Since then he has played the piano in well-known luxury hotels in Mallorca.
In early 2000, he was hired by the Sheraton International chain as pianist of the Hotel Arabella Sheraton Golf Son Vida, where he played until 2010. In turn, he was the pianist of the Summer Festival organized by the hotel, held every year, where he played for the most important personalities of the island.
In the summer of 2008, Miguel Pol was hired to play the piano at private parties around Mallorca, in the famous and legendary yacht “Christina O”, which belonged to the famous Greek magnate Aristoteles Onassis. During that time the yacht celebrated its 50th anniversary. The “Christina O” currently intended for charter, has welcomed celebrities like Maria Callas, John F. Kennedy, Sir Winston Churchill, Marilyn Monroe, Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra or John D. Rockefeller. A yacht whose glamour remains still intact.
In turn, during the summer of 2001, he acted in different cocktail parties for celebrities such as the top model Claudia Schiffer, the Formula 1 racer Michael Schumacher, the tennis player Boris Becker…
He also had the pleasure of delighting the King and the Queen of Spain, the Princess of Asturias and the Dukes of Palma de Mallorca.
At Christmas 2010, he played at the Christmas’ and New Year’s Eve in the Gran Castillo Hotel Son Vida.
During the last years, Miguel has been hired to play in several private concerts in the luxurious Hotel La Residencia, in Deià. There, he has played his favourite musicals:
